Thorsten previously worked at Wesleyan and Dartmouth and joined Yale in 2016 as a lecturer in the Department of German Studies. Dean Voight is responsible for the overall administration and strategic direction of the Career Development Office. She also advises Young Women students on employment in law firms and advises first-year students in her consulting cohort on finding summer jobs in several sectors. Dean Voight has 22 years of experience advising law students and graduates on careers. She is an active member of the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) and most recently was a member of the Task Force on Legislative and Regulatory Reporting. Prior to joining Yale, she offered career advice to students at Duke Law School. From 1992 to 1995, she was a partner in the litigation division of the Boston-based law firm WilmerHale, where she handled general litigation. She received her law degree with honors from George Washington University School of Law and a bachelor`s degree in psychology from Boston College. Van Ann (she) provides career guidance to part-time distance students, with specialized expertise in private sector employment and opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds.

With over a decade of experience in the legal profession, Van Ann has advised and mentored hundreds of students and new lawyers early in their careers.
